Paris - Le Marais

Sunday: a day where you sleep long, lay in your bed all day because everything is closed and there is nothing to do? Well... Not in Paris!

Together with the Champs Elysées (where the shops are open everyday till midnight!), the few shops in Le carroussel du Louvre'or the always-cosy Bercy Village, trendy upcoming district: Le Marais is an amazing place to go on a Sunday!

Therefore today, on this sunny Sunday, Le Marais, was exactly where I was heading.

Metro ligne 1 took my friend and I to 'Saint-Paul/Le marais' where we came above the ground in this very lively street.
Le Marais is known for it's concentrated presence of gays, Jews, and chic fashion designers. Art-lovers will find galleries as well as very interesting Art books in charming vintage bookshops. It is also known for its artsy but very fashionable streetstyle and its sublime combination of amazing vintage shops and stylish brands (The Kooples, Sandro, Zadig&Voltaire, etc.)

I visited 'Le Marais a couple of times already on Sundays and last time, I was with my cousin, Lars, his colleague and my friend when we got spotted by some bloggers  (check out the blog!)

We did some adorable jewellery- and high class clothing shops, but quickly came to a stop at the smell of fresh falafel wafts in the air, and people passing by holding some deliciously filled pita bread. After following the line of people formed to buy one of the best falafel sandwiches in the world at L’As du Falafel, we found ourselves with our deliciousness, sitting in the sun enjoying life.

After falling in love with pretty much the entire 'Sandro' summer colection and in particular some breathtaking sneakers, we went to one of the famous vintage shops of Le Marais, which everyone is so exited about. I discovered why. I got myself a beautiful royal blue dress/tunic embelished with beads and sequins and a light gray dress with glitters; I know... both very 'bling' but yeah... good for a night out here in Paris!
Walking past a 'Jewish bakery' we were drawn inside pulled by curiocity and scent, and came out a few minutes later with some typical jewish pastries to try out.

Rain or sunshine, this is the perfect spot to go for a walk, marvel at the very narrow streets in one of the oldest and best preserved areas of Paris, and sit at a café or (window) shop at designer’s fashion boutiques. The area is so rich in detail with museums, parks, restaurants, and a diversity of people, you could spend an entire day here, from breakfast up until after the last bar closes at 4:00 a.m.

Love, from Paris!
