“La Grande Epicerie” located in the 7th arrondissement, 38 rue de
Sèvres, can be compared to the quality of the Wholefoods or the Harrods
food hall in London. All have refined international fresh products, a clean nicely decorated
interior and an organized display of their products.
One can argue saying La Grande Epicerie is relatively pricey compared
to the daily supermarkets like ‘Monoprix’ or ‘Franprix’. Personally I think; Yes, its expensive but the supermarket is so much more
beautiful, pleasant to shop and the food is both beautiful and very tasteful, so for an often visit it is lovely!
Strolling through the selection of spices, fresh vegetables, sushi's, cognacs,
Armagnac's, honey, waters, oil, cheese, fish,… we were amazed by the variety in products. All
the best this planet has to offer, in one spot. In addition to foods from
many different nations as well as luxury foods, it features an entire section
on molecular food ingredients, a great bakery, amazing patisserie, champagne
bar, coffee bar, etc. Most definitely worth the time to visit!
